About the Apollo Challenge
High gas prices, war in the Middle East, hurricanes, and global warming have forced a new debate on the future of US energy policy. It remains to be seen, however, whether our leaders in Washington will chose more intensive exploitation of older, more polluting technologies or energy independence and good jobs based on newer, cleaner technologies.
Even if America’s leaders choose the path of new, cleaner energy sources, only massive public pressure and bold leadership will ensure action that is fast and big enough to avert the worst impacts of global climate change and create 3 million good American jobs.
