Look at the quote from the book , “”A great industrial nation is now controlled by its system of credit.” is from Chapter 8, Monopoly, or Opportunity, pp. 111-112. He is referring to the danger of monopolies he is not even talking about any Federal reserve. The quote “We are no longer a government by free opinion….” is from Chapter 9, Benevolence, or Justice p. 122, all from 1911 and 1912 speeches.
If you go to the original ” The New Freedom: A Call for the Emancipation of the Generous Energies of a People” and look at the chapter titled Monopoly or opportunity where the quote was pulled from it doesn’t have “I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country”

If you read what he says in “The New Freedom page 183-185, he does speak of Monopolies as you say, but if you read the beginning part, he eludes to the creation of the Federal Reserve…or to the behavior that brought about the Federal Reserve.
He says, “Therefore, when a small group of men approach Congress in order to induce the committee concerned to concur in certain legislation, nobody knows the ramifications of the interests which those men represent; there seems no frank and open action of public opinion in public counsel, but every man is suspected of representing some other man and it is not known where his connections begin or end.”
Yes, he’s talking about Monopolies…what do you think the Federal Reserve is? The Federal Reserve Act was created in order to give complete and all control of banking to the Federal Reserve. Read up on it’s creation sometime, and you’ll see what I’m saying.
I agree. The Federal Reserve is a cartel on our soil. Congress is at a loss. They can’t even audit this “entity”. We are now suffering the consequences. It is understandable why Wilson would be a..”most unhappy man”. We Americans should start researching the history of our country. This problem goes back to the beginning of our history. We can argue and filibuster each other all day like Congress and get no agreement.But, the struggle with this cartel is FACT not FICTION nor CRACKPOT. Read back to Alexander Hamilton, Andrew Jackson and especially Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln made statement of this 11/11/1864. Research and you find other presidents that had to deal with this. It has been a growing infestation.This is all American History, people! We can’t stay asleep if we want to keep our LIBERTY.

This entire quote is in regard to the federal reserve. As it has been documented, the federal reserve is the source of evil and debt within our nation.

Regardless of any banter that suggests the contrary, Wilson is clearly mapping out the fate of a nation that allows a “select few” that obtain all of the of the economic power by basing everything around credit. And in their heart of heart, these select few think they are being patriotic by making decisions on behalf of individuals. That is not a ptriotic notion, when a countries foundation was based on individual liberty. Those that doubt the legitimacy of what Woodrow Wilson is saying, do your homework. It’s all right their, just look at the chronology of events. Almost a hundred years later, you have the long term effects of this select few’s plan. It’s happening before our very eyes, and there is nothing we can do about it.
